Quick Guide
  • Official 1.0.0g announces an even chance per equipment slot and identifies Hunter’s fewer weapon types as the earlier cause of fewer weapons. It does not publish a guaranteed bow per run or a bow-specific probability.
  • After checking the version, observe filters, pickup, selling and salvage before treating an empty weapon slot as a current drop-system bug. h ability buffs and i’s Violet Skybow condition change affect damage, not the chance to find a weapon.

What g changed, and what it did not

The official g wording concerns equipment slots. Before that correction, Hunter received fewer weapons because it has fewer weapon types; the announcement says the loot system now gives even chance per equipment slot. That is a specific historical distribution problem with an announced remedy. A screenshot or complaint before g may therefore describe a different system than the one you have installed.

Keep three questions separate
QuestionRelevant evidenceUnsupported conclusion
Does an equipment drop select a weapon slot fairly?g equipment-slot announcementEvery kill must drop a bow
Is a dropped weapon useful to this Hunter? Its level, stats and equipment comparisonAll bows of one rarity have equal value
Does a useful weapon remain available?Filter, pickup, sell/salvage and lock pathAn empty bag proves nothing dropped

Even slot chance is not equal chance for every named item, rarity or useful stat combination. The announcement supplies no number for a particular bow, no pity counter and no maximum dry streak. Do not multiply an assumed slot fraction by an assumed legendary chance and present the result as a measured drop rate. Identify which stage of the problem you can actually observe.

Inspect the patch before copying a solution

Record the installed version and the date of the advice you are following. If the build predates g, update before comparing its results with a later Hunter guide. If it includes g, a dry spell can still happen, and the retained-loot rules become an important check. The official correction does not remove random variation from a short session.

Version clues for a Hunter investigation
PatchAffected systemUse in the diagnosis
1.0.0gEquipment-slot distributionExplains the historical weapon-type imbalance
1.0.0hHunter ability coefficients and talentsChanges clear behavior after equipment is chosen
1.0.0iViolet Skybow injured → distant bonusChanges when the bow’s bonus applies
1.0.0iLegendary Rein pickup exceptionAffects capacity, not a bow-drop probability

This separation prevents a damage patch from becoming a false explanation for absent loot. A faster Steady Shot may improve your clear time, but the h note does not say it increases the weapon-slot roll. Likewise, the Violet Skybow change applies after you obtain and equip that item.

Trace one wanted rarity through the loot path

Protect a fallback

Keep the equipped weapon and any known replacement protected before changing collection rules. Record the weapon DPS so you can compare candidates.

Retain plausible replacements

Temporarily allow the rarities that could improve the weapon. Do not sell all Uncommon gear while still depending on a Common weapon.

Watch the ground drop

Observe whether a weapon appears, whether the minion reaches it and whether the relevant filter excludes it. A ground drop and an item in the bag are different evidence.

Watch processing

Check both Auto-Sell and Auto-Salvage. Sources disagree about processing time: Apollo/older 0.1.10 describe town drop-off, while Wikily describes immediate combat pickup. Verify the tooltip and gold/material change in your build.

Compare before removing

Hover retained candidates for the stat-difference comparison. Check weapon DPS and build-relevant attributes instead of rarity alone.

Repeat the same conditions

Use the same node, difficulty, mode and collection settings long enough to describe what happened. Keep observed weapon drops distinct from weapons you retained.

ApolloTrail describes a Hunter held back by auto-selling Uncommon replacements while using a +6 Common weapon. That is a launch player example, not a guarantee that every stalled Hunter has the same problem. Its diagnostic value is the separation of item generation from a policy that discards the upgrade. Reopening the filter is useful when progress stalls; changing the random-drop theory alone may miss the cause.

Keep the investigation small and recoverable

A temporary collection experiment can fill the carriage and bag. Keep it narrow and inspect the next town delivery rather than enabling every rarity for an overnight test. Wikily says Auto-Fill Inventory sends new collected loot to available inventory space when the carriage is full; it does not grant infinite capacity. Official i’s always-pickup Legendary Reins can add capacity pressure even if an old Rein-filter guide suggests otherwise.

Lock items you intend to keep. Official 0.1.13 added that protection, and 0.1.9 provides buyback for the last eight NPC-sold items. Buyback is a limited sale remedy, not a universal reversal for salvage or dragging an item outside the bag. If you accidentally removed a candidate, record the action before assuming it failed to drop.

Violet Skybow: a damage-condition correction

Official i changes Violet Skybow from +170% Damage vs Injured to +170% Damage vs Distant. Keep the magnitude and condition together: it is a replacement, not two bonuses to add. Compare targets and positioning when testing that weapon. A bow that feels different after the patch can reflect a changed applicable condition, while a missing bow is still a loot-path question.

The note does not provide the distance threshold or an injured-target cutoff. Do not infer them from the displayed percentage. Read the installed item tooltip and compare a consistent target setup if you want to measure the practical effect. The base attack coefficient, weapon roll and condition bonus are different inputs to damage.

Make a useful remaining-issue report

  • Include build, Hunter level, node, difficulty and character mode.
  • Record the observed period or number of completed runs, including deaths and interrupted runs.
  • List permitted rarities and enabled sell/salvage rules, with the tooltip wording if timing is unclear.
  • Separate weapons seen on the ground, collected weapons, processed weapons and useful retained upgrades.
  • Include a screenshot of the current and candidate weapon when the problem is quality rather than quantity.

Q: Does g guarantee a bow every run?

No. It announces even equipment-slot chances, without a per-run bow guarantee or pity threshold.

Q: Is an upgraded Common weapon always better than an Uncommon drop?

Compare the actual stats and DPS. Apollo’s launch example warns against removing replacements before that comparison.

Q: Can the i Skybow buff explain a missing weapon?

No. Its announced change concerns a damage condition after you obtain the item.

Q: What if I see weapons but they never remain in my inventory?

Trace filter, pickup, Auto-Sell/Salvage and storage. That observation is stronger evidence for a processing problem than for an absent drop.
