Quick Guide
  • Use an eligible owned-copy online hero for the leaderboard and Steam Market. The in-game Auctioneer unlock, item eligibility and Steam account restrictions are separate checks.
  • Official i adds Buy Items and opens auction buttons inside Steam. A listed price or rare Rein is not a promise of a completed sale, withdrawable cash or a profitable farming route.

Check the three gates before planning a sale

Separate the requirements
GateSource-supported checkIf blocked
Character mode/licenseOnline hero; h requires an owned copyUse the mode-selection guide before investing in a new hero
In-game AuctioneerApollo reports level 5 and 500 goldRead the actual quest and confirmation cost
Steam account/itemAccount restrictions and selected item eligibilityRead the Steam message and item tooltip rather than altering the hero

The Auctioneer figure is a launch guide report, not a current unlock test. Official h’s license rule permits Family Sharing, Free Weekend and PC café licenses in Singleplayer, while restricting Online Mode to your own copy. A working hero can therefore still be ineligible for the feature you are trying to use. Identify the failed gate before reinstalling or deleting a save.

Valve’s Market FAQ requires a successful purchase more than seven days and less than a year old, plus fifteen days of Steam Guard. A redeemed gift alone does not grant Market access. It also describes wallet-only proceeds, final completed transactions, and a 5% Steam fee with a $0.01 minimum paid by the buyer. Check the live confirmation and any additional game-specific charge; these general rules do not certify this account’s eligibility.

Inspect the leaderboard’s actual objective

The official 0.1.13 introduction put the leaderboard in the character panel and ranked fastest Treant Boss map clear time for that test. Later beta announcements mention a new final boss and leaderboard, but those event histories do not establish today’s retail ranking format or prizes. Read the current screen’s named objective, difficulty, timing and eligibility before building around a timed challenge.

Record the rule before comparing runs
FieldWhy it matters
Named map or bossA fast clear of another node answers another question
Difficulty and eventNormal farming and a challenge may use different conditions
Timing definitionCombat time, map-clear time and wall time need not match
Character modeAn offline practice run does not prove an eligible online entry
Version and buildClass coefficients and hit behavior changed across h/i
Reward/closing date if shownA historical beta invitation is not a current event

A displayed boss achievement is not a substitute for that ranking evidence. Official g fixed an on-kill legendary-shoulder effect that could trigger the Boss Kill achievement; the same update fixed selected false cheat-detection bans. Keep an achievement, an accepted score and a reproduced clear as distinct records. Do not infer that every surprising ranking is cheating or that an old bug explains a new entry.

Check the individual item before modifying it

The official store advertises trading equipment, materials and minions. ApolloTrail’s October 1 market report describes a narrower observed set: Legendary Reins, Black Mist gear, Divine gear and Rune Set runes. That is a dated launch snapshot, not an exhaustive certified current manifest. Hover the actual item and inspect its tradable wording, then compare the corresponding Steam listing.

Inspect these reported groups
GroupGameplay decision firstTrading check
Legendary ReinFirst minion unlock or useful duplicate?Check the individual Rein’s eligibility
Black Mist equipmentNeeded for this build or replacement?Read the selected item tag and any modification warning
Divine equipmentWould using it solve a progression need?Inspect the exact item and confirmation
Rune Set runePart of an intended set?Check its state before equipping or altering

Keep valuable candidates protected while deciding. An automatic sale for in-game gold is a different operation from a Steam Market sale. Source accounts disagree about Auto-Sell timing, with Wikily describing immediate carriage pickup and older guides describing town processing. Review top-rarity rules and observe the actual result before an unattended collection session. Official i always picks up Legendary Reins regardless of filter, so capacity planning still matters.

Do not upgrade, socket, reveal or equip a prospective trade item without reading its current warning. Some secondary guides describe those actions changing eligibility, but the exact retail restrictions were not tested here. A self-check at the point of action protects your choice without pretending that every item has the same rule.

Browse and verify the transaction path

Open the Auction House

Confirm the intended online hero and unlock state. On i, Buy Items browses listings and both buttons open inside Steam.

Match app and item

Use the retail game and exact item name. A similarly named package or another rarity is a different purchase.

Read the order type

For an identical commodity item, the Steam interface may use a buy order instead of choosing a particular copy. Read the displayed maximum, quantity and order status.

Read the final confirmation

Check the currency, item, quantity and total before confirming. For a sale, compare what the buyer pays and what the displayed proceeds mean.

Inspect completion and delivery

Keep the Steam transaction record and compare in-game received/mail status. Apollo reports purchases arriving through the inventory screen’s mail icon; an active order is not the same as a delivered item.

Valve explains commodity buy orders as a maximum price that can fulfill at a lower available price. Unsold listings can be removed before purchase; completed Market transactions are final. This page describes the checks and makes no transaction on your behalf.

For a missing delivery, record whether the order is still active, completed or cancelled, which hero is loaded and the in-game message. Do not buy the same item again simply because the first mail view is empty. A market record, a server receipt and a usable inventory item are successive pieces of evidence, not interchangeable proof.

Keep sale value separate from asking price

A launch-week screenshot of a costly Rein records an asking price at one moment. It does not establish demand, the number of completed sales, a future price or an hourly return for your farming route. Apollo’s two-date Flying Fish King example illustrates how quickly an asking price can change; this article deliberately avoids turning that snapshot into an income estimate.

  • Compare the exact item and currency in the live interface.
  • Decide whether the first unlock or build use is worth more to this hero than the contemplated sale.
  • Distinguish in-game gold from Steam Wallet balance in notes or calculations.
  • Account for the actual displayed transaction total rather than assuming a screenshot price is your proceeds.
  • Keep drop uncertainty, time, capacity and entry resources separate from completed sale value.

Q: Why is the Auction House empty?

Check the hero mode, unlock and the item tag. Browsing other players’ listings uses the Steam flow; an empty personal item/listing view alone does not diagnose a server fault.

Q: Should I sell my first Legendary Rein?

First compare its minion unlock and your current build. A duplicate can have a different gameplay value; a visible price does not make either decision automatic.

Q: Do online rankings prove a money-making route?

No. Ranking conditions, loot rolls and sale completion are separate systems. Read the actual objective and market record.

Q: Can I use the June Treant ranking rules for a retail event?

Only if the current screen establishes the same objective. The captured 0.1.13 rule was a historical test.
