Fishing is presented as a separate world map activity at three spots. AFK Meta’s guide dated 3 October 2026 explicitly says there are no baits or rods to buy; the two fishing Life Skill branches change results. That is a community reference statement, not a baitless system tested by this article. AFK Meta says each spot stays open after its qualifying clear. The unlock stage is a progression requirement, not a chance for a rod to drop. Select an opened fishing point and observe repeated casts; distinguish a map lock from an empty cast. A hero who cannot yet reach the location needs progression, while a cast that reports nothing may be a normal outcome in the listed catch rules.

Wikily lists a 50% chance of nothing on a cast without fishing Life Skills and weighted outcomes on the successful half. Its acquired page prints the three base pools. The rows below retain the distinct local fish along with the cross-location chests, key and Rein. These are source probabilities before the fishing bonuses, not independently verified current Online Mode rates.

The locations share the rare Rein percentage in this base table, while some local fish differ. If your goal is a specific local catch, choose that pool; if the goal is the Flying Fish King, the reference does not give one spot a better base Rein rate. AFK Meta also supplies fish sale prices and Food catches, so a gold comparison would need actual outcome values and session time, not just the percentage of successful casts.

Wikily calculates empty chance as 1 − (1 − 50%) × (1 + success bonus). With both Angler nodes, the bonus is 60%, so the empty chance becomes 20% and the catch chance 80%. With only the first 25% bonus, the same formula yields 37.5% empty and 62.5% catch. Those are derived arithmetic from the published formula, not observed catch rates in this workspace. The bonus does not guarantee every cast or turn a rare outcome into a common one.

The five named fishing nodes total 41,000 gold by adding their listed costs, but reaching Soul Reliquary I also has prerequisites. The Item Find branch starts Auto Recovery 50→Item Find I 150→Soul Reliquary I 1,000. If none is learned, the calculated full route to all five fishing nodes is 42,200 gold. Do not confuse the 41,000 feature subtotal with an empty tree purchase budget.

Wikily’s fishing Life Skills page describes an offline cast as release 0.25 s, flight 0.6 s, random wait 8–14 s, bite 2 s, reel 0.35 s and rest 2.5 s. That totals 13.7–19.7 seconds, with 16.7 seconds as its average. It says Swift Cast shortens all steps and the full 50% bonus yields a 6.85–9.85 second range. These offline timings are the reference’s model; current online timing or network delays are not measured here.

Shorter casts and better catch success address different parts of the farming rate. Swift Cast produces more attempts per minute; Angler’s Instinct makes more attempts produce a catch. Their benefits can work together in the reference model, but neither identifies which specific catch the next success will roll. Compare the gold required with other current progression needs before buying the whole branch at once.

Both references list the Rein of the Flying Fish King at 0.0101% per base cast. AFK Meta prints 0.0162% with both Angler nodes and calls the Rein a tradable Legendary item that unlocks the minion when used. Its estimated 46 hours without fishing Life Skills or 14 hours with all five are explicitly approximate and labelled to be confirmed in play. They are average-model leads, not a deadline for receiving the rare item. A player can fish longer than average and still have no Rein.

A caught Rein and an unlocked companion remain separate. Retain or use it deliberately after reading the item’s consumption confirmation, and review its actual effect before changing the active companion. AFK Meta’s minion entry lists Flying Fish King capacity 30, Mana Monsoon +25 Mana Regen for 5 seconds on a 20 second cooldown, and Ocean’s Providence +10% Mana Cost Reduction. That gives a build reason to compare the companion rather than fishing only for its Legendary label.

Official 1.0.0g fixed opening chests during fishing incorrectly triggering the fishing achievement. That is a named achievement fix, not evidence that a chest counts as a cast. Keep actual fishing outcomes and town reward actions separate when recording progress.
