Quick Guide
  • The reviewed sources do not establish a current Deskrawl enchanting NPC or affix-reroll service, its price, material, eligible pool or undo rules.
  • Older demo references use [Enchanted] inside equipment effects aimed at abilities. That language does not prove an enchantment service exists.
  • Wikily documents dropped item attribute rolls, Blacksmith number upgrades and socketed gem bonuses as different ways an equipment setup changes.

A search term is not evidence of a mechanic

Enchanting can mean different things in ARPG guides: replacing a modifier, adding a damage effect, or an ability tag referenced by equipment. For Deskrawl, the retained source corpus contains the term [Enchanted] in older demo equipment text, but the reviewed retail references do not identify an enchanting vendor or an affix reroll transaction. A useful answer therefore separates the documented operations instead of importing a system from another ARPG.

The demo Fandom wiki prints Greaves of the Arcane Edge as adding 150% Critical Hit Damage from [Enchanted] Abilities and Elemental Burst Pauldron as giving 50% Fire and Lightning Damage for 6 seconds after an Enchanted ability. Those are historical fan reference item effects, not verified current retail tooltips. They show a tag being used as an effect condition; they do not supply a town menu, gold cost or recipe for enchanting equipment.

The separate demo glossary also lists Enchanted as a tag entry, but its retained table does not define a complete current ability membership list. This guide does not turn an older label into a present class rotation or assert that every elemental attack qualifies. Read the current ability’s exact tag and the item’s condition if trying to activate a specific effect.

Read the item’s rarity before expecting a modifier set

Uncommon2 primaryDifferent drop can still improve the build
Rare3 primary +1 secondaryMore modifier positions
Legendary4 primary +1 secondaryBlack Mist entry lists 5 revealed

Wikily says ordinary Common through Legendary item numbers use independent rolls from 0.85 to 1.15 with rarity multipliers 1.2,1.4,1.5 and 1.6. Weapon speed uses 0.80 to 1.20. That describes how a dropped item’s numbers are generated in the reference; it does not establish a button that rerolls them later. A comparison between two same-named items may reflect their original roll or item level rather than an enchanted state.

The same page says Divine gear has fixed attributes and Back items roll no attributes at any rarity. If a given item cannot receive a random modifier under its documented generation rule, do not promise a “reroll” can convert it to a specific desired stat. Inspect the item class, rarity, item level and actual existing attributes before deciding whether it belongs in the build.

Use the operation that is actually described

Documented reference operations versus an unestablished service
OperationWhat the reviewed source saysWhat it does not prove
Find another itemDrops can roll attributes and numeric rangesA manual reroll vendor
Blacksmith upgradeAdds rotating 5% steps to the item’s numbersReplacement of unwanted affix types
Socket a gemAdds a family/slot-specific bonusRewriting the original modifier list
SalvageConverts unwanted gear into materialsUndoing or modifying the same item
Enchantment/reroll transactionNot established by the reviewed body setNo price, pool or failure guarantee is asserted

For a Blacksmith upgrade, Wikily distributes steps first to weapon speed/damage or Armor and then attributes in tooltip order. A larger strength number after upgrading can therefore be an upgrade gain, not an affix replacement. For a gem, the bonus depends on whether it is in a Weapon, Armor or Accessory socket. Both can improve the complete equipment setup while leaving an unwanted existing modifier unchanged.

If the item’s modifier family is unsuitable, compare another drop before spending heavily on its numbers. Keep useful candidates out of automatic rarity disposal so a replacement can reach the bag. This is a practical resource decision based on documented item generation and filters; it is not evidence of a secret reroll mechanic.

Diagnose an ability-conditioned modifier

Read the item’s current condition

Look for an ability tag, damage family, enemy condition or trigger. Do not shorten [Enchanted] Abilities to “all magic damage.”

Read the candidate ability

Check the actual tag in the installed tooltip. The reviewed historical sources do not establish every current qualifying ability.

Separate trigger from magnitude

A large percentage helps only while the condition is met. A dormant condition can explain a modifier that looks impressive but does not affect the intended fight.

Observe one controlled comparison

Keep node and gear steady where possible and watch the relevant ability/result. That test can inform your build without claiming the guide has already performed it.

Choose a documented change

Replace unsuitable gear, upgrade a useful retained item or choose a relevant gem. Do not pay for an unidentified service because a search term implies it exists.

A retained Steam discussion complains about modifier redundancy and proposes different main/sub modifier counts. Its text is a player suggestion, not a developer announcement that rerolling was added. It is useful evidence of player frustration, but it cannot establish a service or a new rarity rule. Keep requests and implementation separate.

What would establish a current reroll service

A stronger claim would need a current named menu/service, the item before and after the operation, the currency/material bill and the actual confirmation or developer explanation. It should also separate which modifier can change, whether all values reroll, eligible item types, trade consequences and failed/canceled actions. None of those transaction details is supplied by the reviewed body set. The absence of this evidence is not a proof that no future or undiscovered build contains it; it limits what this article can recommend.

If your current client has an Enchant or Reroll control, preserve its exact label, version and tooltip before using an expensive item. That record can update the guide with a concrete operation. Until then, the existing upgrade and gem guides provide costed, source-supported alternatives without pretending they reroll the modifier family.

Enchanting and affix questions

Q: Where is the enchanting NPC?

The reviewed retail sources do not identify a named current NPC or enchanting service.

Q: Does [Enchanted] mean an item can be enchanted?

No. In older demo item text it appears inside ability conditions expressed on equipment.

Q: Can Blacksmith upgrades change a stat type?

The reviewed rule adds steps to the item’s numbers; it does not document replacing affix types.

Q: Can a gem solve a bad modifier roll?

It can add its defined slot bonus, but the reference does not describe it replacing the original attributes.

Q: Are Divine attributes random in the table?

Wikily lists them as fixed and not rolled.

Q: Should I use a reroll method from Diablo or another ARPG?

No. Similar wording does not establish the same vendor, resources or trade rules in Deskrawl.

For the costed service that raises retained gear numbers, read Blacksmith Item Upgrades.

Sources and scope

Expanded editorial source review for Steam retail app 4623570, Deskrawl: Idle ARPG. Launch-era ApolloTrail advice, dated AFK Meta data, unofficial Wikily references and named official patch notes are separated in the article. New statements are traced in the claim ledger; derived planning examples are identified. Mechanics, source independence and online-server rules have not been verified in the current client.
