Quick Guide
  • Wikily lists Experience Potion as a utility consumable granting 15% experience for one hour and an Alchemist recipe of 15 Mushroom.
  • ApolloTrail’s through-h guide reports the XP buff ending at town return, with potion buffs also reported lost on death. These are retained source/player reports, not a current-client test.
  • Prepare gear, storage, potion stock and the node before using it. Compare the effect icon after transitions and avoid replacing it with another utility-category buff unintentionally.

Know what the potion provides and how to obtain it

The reviewed Wikily status-effect entry gives Experience Potion a 15% experience increase for one hour. Its XP Gained stat page identifies it as a Utility Potion. The potion recipe page lists 15 Mushroom and says Alchemists craft the listed recipes without a separate gold cost. The same page gives a shop-opening requirement of hero level 5; 500 gold; 5 Mushroom. Those opening costs are separate from each recipe’s ingredient bill; the guide does not infer a market purchase price.

Check the current recipe and held materials at the Alchemist before planning multiple uses. The reviewed page names Mira in City of Aldenreach, Zahra in City of Tazan and Solveig in City of Veldak as Alchemists. It does not establish that the hero must travel to a particular city for this recipe or that every server uses the same economy. Use the available town service and its tooltip.

Separate nominal duration from transition reports

A one hour description states how long the effect is designed to last while active; it does not answer every interruption rule. ApolloTrail’s guide through 1.0.0h reports that an XP potion ends on returning to town and says players report potion-buff loss on death. Deskrawl Guide’s retained leveling article repeats those player observations while calling the bonus 15%. These are useful warnings to test, but the sources do not provide a current developer note establishing the rule across every build.

Do not combine these into a claim that every use guarantees a full uninterrupted hour or always disappears under a transition in the current client. Inspect the effect duration while hovering the status: official 1.0.0g says status hover shows remaining durations. That gives a practical way to distinguish an expired timer from a transition-cleared buff without relying on the XP bar alone.

Finish preparation before spending the consumable

Choose a productive node

Check hero and enemy levels, then observe a stable repeatable clear. A severely outleveled node can waste a bonus even when the hero never dies.

Finish town tasks

Compare gear, spend the planned skill points, craft potions and organize retained items while already in town.

Clear receiving room

Use town storage to create free bag slots. Check cart capacity and whether unwanted equipment is sold or salvaged, so the run does not end unexpectedly early.

Start the selected loop

Enter the intended stage and confirm the hero is fighting as expected before using the utility potion.

Read the active effect

Check the potion category, icon and remaining duration. Record the first transition if testing the reported town-return behavior.

Review the full result

Compare gained XP over the session’s total time. If the run repeatedly dies or returns, fix that interruption before consuming a larger stock.

Capacity can change the useful uninterrupted window. Wikily reports minion-based cart room plus learned capacity and Auto-Fill using free inventory slots after a full cart. Those systems do not multiply the potion percentage; they affect how long a retained-loot loop can continue before another delivery or management action. A companion with more room can help only if its different combat effects still keep the node sustainable.

Avoid replacing the XP effect with another utility buff

Wikily says Combat Potions, Utility Potions and Food each have a buff category, with only one active buff per category; using another consumable from the same category replaces the current one. Experience Potion is utility, so category reading matters before adding speed or gold consumables. A missing XP icon after another drink may be a replacement rather than the town-return issue. The source does not say utility effects stack merely because the inventory holds multiple potions.

The same reference says an unlocked auto-use slot uses its assigned consumable during combat whenever that category’s buff is not active. AFK Meta lists Utility Potion Auto-Use Slot at 25,000 gold after a Potion Find I node. That is a different unlock from Combat Potion Auto-Use Slot. An automatic utility setup also requires actual stock and may consume it whenever a buff is absent; review the assignment before leaving the game for a long period.

Estimate the usable window instead of the advertised maximum

As planning arithmetic, a 15% bonus active for ten productive minutes gives 1.5 minutes of baseline XP-equivalent reward over those ten minutes, assuming the same base rate throughout. If it lasts thirty productive minutes, the extra is 4.5 baseline-rate minutes. These are hypothetical calculations, not measured Deskrawl yields. They show why a shorter but productive loop can still benefit, while using a potion during preparation produces little value.

Use total elapsed time to compare the actual plan. A larger cart, better survival or fewer management actions may increase productive time; an XP gear swap that slows combat can reduce it. Do not calculate a potion’s return from the percentage alone or turn a guide’s rough launch report into an exact farming guarantee. The node-choice guide provides a simple XP-per-minute recording method for this comparison.

Experience potion questions

Q: Is the recipe 15 Mushroom or a gold purchase?

Wikily’s recipe lists 15 Mushroom and no separate crafting gold cost. Opening the Alchemist service has a separate listed bill.

Q: Can I use XP and a combat potion together?

They belong to separate utility and combat categories in the reference. Only one buff per category is described.

Q: Does Auto Refill refill Experience Potions?

AFK Meta’s Auto Refill restores health-potion charges after town or revive. It is not a recipe or stock-generation rule for utility consumables.

Q: Can I trust an hour even if I return to town?

The status entry gives a nominal hour, but retained launch guides report early loss at town. Inspect the current effect across that transition.

Q: Why does the XP bar barely move with the icon active?

The enemy-level penalty or a slow kill rate can still dominate. The icon does not establish a useful full-loop XP rate.

Choose the loop first with Experience Stalls and Node Choice.
